![]() “Summertime Blues” may be a great song first done by Eddie Cochran, but the summertime blues can be a real thing. You could be stuck at home or on the job, and summer is nothing more than blue to you. Maybe you’re away from friends or family and all those plans for “fun in the sun” just haven’t materialized like you imagined. Thankfully, there are ways to beat those summertime blues: 1. Be flexible: “Man makes plans and God laughs.” What opportunities are you missing because it’s not on your “To Do” list or exactly as you had planned? 2. Savor the flavor of fresh fruits and veggies: A walk through your local farmers’ market has a multiple benefits—exercise, fresh air and healthy eating. 3. Do something for someone else: Visit an elderly neighbor and help them garden, or visit your local nursing home and brighten someone’s day. When you give to others you’re likely the one that will reap the most benefit. Don’t miss out on the blessing of today while waiting for “someday.” You’re a door to God’s love. Is the door locked or opened to the opportunity on the other side? With every act of love, you can find—and give—the cure for the summertime blues.
