![]() I think everyone’s emotions are on double go today. While thinking about everything, I read this not from our friend, Joe Arant, and he offers a wonderful reminder of what we need to do starting today. If you would like prayer, contact us via email or phone the office. God is STILL in control. —————————————————————- In case any of you are discouraged this morning by the election results, I just want to encourage you with some timeless promises that our God makes to all of us today: 1. God is in control and there is nothing about this election that caught him by surprise: Colossians 1: He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 2. Understanding God’s ways are not always easily apparent, but his promises are true to all who believe: Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 3. And last but certainly not least, don’t ever forget this amazing promise: Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Many of us have friends and family today who are discouraged by the election results, let’s remind them that we serve a big God and He is in control. Ask ourselves, what do we need to do as a church? Remember, to not fear but take heart that He has overcome the world! Blessings, Joe Arant
