Operation Golden Christmas
Operation Golden Christmas is one of our biggest outreaches each year. We want the elderly in care centers to know that they are loved and remembered at Christmas.
Last year we had our largest Operation Golden Christmas to date. We assembled 3365 gifts to 47 care centers and hosted 19 parties/special music/delivery times. We also had 69 Instances of volunteers coming into the office to assemble gifts for a total of 179 hours! What a blessing!

In 2024 we assembled and distributed nearly 3000 gifts to the elderly in 43 of our local care centers. We also hosted 17 Christmas parties. It is such a joy to see the excitement on the seniors' faces when we come to host the parties and deliver the gifts!
Testimonies:
We received this note: “Miss M found your package in her room after the Christmas morning service and was overjoyed to find all the things she loves: a Word Find book and pen, tissues she immediately tucked into her purse for safe keeping, a hat made in her favorite color (purple), and a Christmas message - a special note saying, “we hope we have the chance to get to know you even better in the coming New Year.” To this, she emphasized her hope that someone would becoming to visit her! The most precious gift of all, is the relationship you are building through your care.”
From one of our partner churches who helped deliver gifts: "The residents were quite receptive to receiving the gifts, and to the caroling. They sang along with us, and at the end wanted to know when we were coming back. We stayed back after singing, sat at the dining tables with them, and had conversations with them. They were happy to talk with us. In the Memory Care section, a woman upon being given her gifts (a blanket and a stuffed animal) said, “I didn’t know that anyone cared”. We were all blessed by participating in this event."
Some notes we were sent: "The Crossroads Ministries team visited my apartment this last week. I was delighted to meet them and pleased that they had prayer with me. They also gave me a red bag with very usable gifts. Thank you and the ministry for this fine service and the nice gifts."

"What a blessing to know friends in Christ, even if we have never met. It was very thoughtful of you to think of us during the Christmas time and sharing your gifts. I was the happy person to meet the brown teddy bear. I'm 91 years old and I've never had such a gift. Thank you and God bless you. I also thank you for the set of coloring pencils, the coloring book and knit cap. Thank you for your prayers. Let's rejoice in the Lord!"
